Program Highlights
Faculty and students in our program are constantly involved in service to physical therapy and to their community. Below are just a few examples:
Participation at the 2024 American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) national conference in Boston, MA
During the Opening Ceremonies, Dr. Hilary Greenberger, the chair of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, welcomed the new and renewed board-certified physical therapists from 9 different specialty areas.
Dr. Laura Gras (ICPTDepartment Chair & Program Director) presented "The 5Ms of Geriatrics: The Missing Link in Movement System Framework”.
Dr. Megan Hotchkiss and clinical education colleagues presented a poster, “Magnitude of Racial Bias and Microaggressions Experienced by PT Students during First Clinical Education Experiences” which won the Social Responsibility Award from the Global Health Special Interest Group.
Dr. Teresa Chen and alumni Kayleen Alvarado-Rodriguez and Jamie Kronenberg (not in the photo) presented a poster, “Empowering Physical Therapy Students and Professionals: Fostering Personal and Professional Growth through Individualized Mentorship.”
Dr. Teresa Chen presented a second poster, “Intrinsic Foot Muscle Contraction for Alleviating Negative Impact on Standing Balance.”
