Tuba Audition Requirements

Degree Page: Composition (B.M.)

Additional Application Requirements:

  1. Two (2) scores of original works (with sound files, if possible). 


Audition Requirements:

  1. One (1) complete, multi-movement work (concerto, sonata, or suite) from any historical period.
  2. One (1) lyrical or one technical etude.
  3. All Major and Harmonic Minor scales, in one (1) or two (2) octaves at 76 bpm or faster (eighth-sixteenth pattern). Be able to demonstrate the upper and lower extremities of your range.

Interview Requirements:

  1. Speak with a member of our Composition faculty and ask any specific questions you may have about the Composition degree program.

Audition Requirements:

Degree Page: Sound Recording Technology (B.M.)

Pre-screen Requirements:

  1. Two (2) pieces of contrasting styles.
  2. Three (3) scales and arpeggios of your choosing.


Audition Requirements:

  1. One (1) complete, multi-movement work (concerto, sonata, or suite) from any historical period.
  2. One (1) lyrical or one technical etude.
  3. All Major and Harmonic Minor scales, in one (1) or two (2) octaves at 76 bpm or faster (eighth-sixteenth pattern). Be able to demonstrate the upper and lower extremities of your range.

Interview Requirements:

  1. Meet with members of the SRT faculty, practice critical listening skills, and discuss your background in audio engineering thus far. Approximately 20 minutes.

  2. One (1) lyrical or one technical etude.
  3. All Major and Harmonic Minor scales, in one (1) or two (2) octaves at 76 bpm or faster (eighth-sixteenth pattern). Be able to demonstrate the upper and lower extremities of your range.
