Personal Training

Personal training sessions are a great way to meet any of your personal fitness goals.

Sessions last one hour and are adjusted to fit your schedule. To sign up, please email personaltraining@ithaca.edu.

We offer individual, partner, and group packages.  Cash or check is accepted for payment.  Please make checks payable to Ithaca College and bring the payment to your intake meeting. You will be matched with a trainer following the meeting.

Individual Packages

  • 4 Sessions: $100 students, $150 faculty/staff
  • 7 Sessions: $150 students, $200 faculty/staff

Partner & Group Packages

  • 4 Sessions: $75 ea. students, $100 ea. faculty/staff
  • 7 Sessions: $125 ea. students, $150 ea. faculty/staff
  • 4 Group Sessions: $50 ea. students, $75 ea. faculty/staff

Personal Training FAQs

The Personal Training Program offers a variety of services. We can help you learn fun and safe techniques to incorporate into your exercise routine. Training will help you reach your fitness goals and will increase your overall health and well-being.

If you are a participant in the Mind, Body, Me employee wellness program, all you need to do is e-mail personal training@ithaca.edu. For students, and faculty/staff who are not in the Mind, Body, Me program the first step to get started is for you and your workout partner (if you are doing buddy sessions) to complete an initial assessment. The assessments last 20-30 minutes, and must be completed prior to your first training session. For partnered packages we ask that both individuals schedule separate assessments. The cost of the assessment is included in your training package, and does not count against your sessions.

After the assessment you will be assigned to a trainer and can begin scheduling sessions at your convenience. The Medical History and New Client Information forms must be completed and brought to the assessment along with payment for your training packages. Individual: 4 Sessions = $80, 7 Sessions = $115, 10 Sessions = $140
Buddy: 4 Sessions = $50 per person, 7 Sessions = $70 per person, 10 Sessions = $80 per person

The Personal Training office is located on the main level of the Fitness Center, in the Exercise Area. The office number is 209.

During the initial assessment you will meet with the Program Coordinator to review your Medical History and goals for Personal Training. Based on the information contained in your Medical History it may be necessary to obtain a Physician’s clearance prior to your first training session.

The remainder of the assessment consists of a few brief non-invasive fitness tests to evaluate your overall fitness and give your Trainer a better idea of your fitness level.

We require all individuals with moderate to high health risks to obtain physicians clearance prior to beginning a personal training program. The defined levels of risk are based on the standards of the American College of Sports Medicine. The physician's clearance is a one-sided form that can be faxed to your physician and is usually returned to our office within two business days. Once the form is received, you may begin scheduling sessions with your trainer at any time.

Yes. All the trainers have pictures and brief bios posted on the website in the Meet the Trainers section, along with on a bulletin board in the main hallway at the fitness center. You have the opportunity to select who you feel may be the most compatible for you.

It’s time to congratulate yourself for your progress! At this point, you may choose to continue working out on your own, or continue to work with a trainer.

Yes. We think the gift of health is perhaps one of the best! Contact the Personal Training office today to provide a friend or co-worker with a gift certificate. Gift certificates are available for all packages.
