Fall 2024 Midterm Grading Deadline

Midterm Grading:

Will be available in HomerConnect beginning, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, for full term classes.

(Please note: midterm grading is not available for block courses).

Midterm grades are due by 5:00 pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

This is an opportunity to prepare for easy final grading by ensuring that:

  • You can access HomerConnect;
  • Are all the students attending your class on your class roster?
  • Are all the students on your class roster attending your class?
  • If you are teaching PALS, confirm your students are participating in the appropriate sport.

Midterm grades can be changed and adjusted until 5:00 pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Midterm grades do not have a grade change form in IC workflow.

Midterm Grades: Required

“It is College policy that by the midpoint of each semester all students be evaluated in each course in which they have enrolled. The method of evaluation is to be determined by each faculty member. This assessment is reflected in a midterm grade submitted to the Office of the Registrar in accordance with the schedule published by that office. The only exception to this policy is in those block courses that conclude in half a semester.

Deans and directors deal with this policy as it relates to the individual faculty members and courses within their school.”

Midterm grade requirements can be found in the college catalog.

Start by logging in to HomerConnect:

Select Faculty Grade Entry

You will need to select the Midterm Grades tab in the top left corner of the page.

Pro Tip:

You can use the search box for any of the set parameters listed such as Subject, Course, Title, Term or CRN to make finding your course easier.

Once you find your course, click on it. This will open the grade entry section.  Please note that a new page will not open.  Simply scroll down to see this page.  You can then use the drop down menu to select a letter grade for each student.  (Please note that you are not required to enter a Last Attend Date for students with a grade of F when entering Midterm Grades)

You may find that you cannot see all of the students in your class listed. In this case, use the arrows on the bottom right of the screen to navigate to the next page, or you can adjust the number of students to be shown per page.

Once you have finished entering grades you need to click save on the bottom left of the page.
