Strategic Leadership (B.S.)
Strategic Leadership (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science in Strategic Leadership equips students with the skills they need to succeed in leadership positions in organizations regardless of size or industry. Students benefit from immersive, experiential learning opportunities as courses emphasize the real-world application of skills and knowledge. In the required course Leadership & Collaboration, students complete a team service-learning project. In the capstone course Leading Organizational Change, students work in teams to complete a semester-long consulting project that requires collecting and analyzing data and formulating justifiable recommendations for a local organization.
The program features a streamlined business core (shared by all majors in the School of Business), with a mix of 2- and 4-credit courses that balance cutting-edge courses with others designed to equip you with fundamental skills. For example, you’ll obtain Excel Certification, and you’ll be prepared to be certified in Project Management. Overall, the program intentionally cultivates those skills that are most sought after by employers: oral communication, written communication, critical thinking, problem solving, ethical judgment, working effectively in teams, working independently/self-motivation, service learning, and project management.
You’ll also have sufficient flexibility to explore across the liberal arts and other professional fields. For example, you will have opportunities to supplement your business education with courses offered by Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications and IC’s three other schools (Health Sciences and Human Performance; Humanities and Sciences; and Music, Theatre, and Dance).
You’ll benefit from sufficient flexibility to explore across the liberal arts and other professional fields. The purpose of this degree is to educate broadly minded business leaders.
