Summer Housing Options

During the summer break period, many of our residence halls and on campus apartments house summer conference guests and groups.  Conference and Event Services manages registration for all conference groups and programs, as well as pricing and meal plans.

Residential Life manages on-campus housing for Ithaca College (IC) Summer Session students and student employees. It is important to note that resources are more limited over the summer.

Summer Housing 2025 - Request Form now available!

  • During the summer term, on campus housing is available for IC summer session students, student employees, and students with exceptional needs who are registered for housing. Housing options are limited to 2-4 residence halls (apartments are not available over the summer). Specific locations change each year due to renovations and summer conference needs. Student must register for summer housing 14 days before their arrival. To register for summer housing, please complete the form on the Housing Portal accessed via HomerConnectThe form opens March 17, 2025.
  • Students will be billed based on a weekly rate (defined as seven consecutive days), including multi-week reservations. Bills will not be adjusted if you arrive late or leave early during your reservation. (For example, if you reserve housing for 15 days, you will be charged for 3 weeks (the equivalent of 21 days). Students who stay for partial weeks will not be prorated.
    • Summer 2025 Housing Rates:
      • Double room: $200/week (includes 21 meal swipes per week)
      • Single room: $250/week (includes 21 meal swipes per week)
    • Students who register to live on campus through the end of Summer Housing who move to their fall on campus assignment early will be charged a modified cost of $150/week (which includes 21 meal swipes).
  • All students living in summer housing are required to have a meal plan. The summer meal plan includes 21 meal swipes for each week in residence in summer housing.
  • Housing assignments are made using information the student provided on their registration form, such as requested room type and roommate. There are a limited number of summer housing locations available during the summer term, which means certain types of housing, such as apartments, are not available. Students with special accommodations will follow the same process as during the academic year; please see our Special Accommodations webpage for more info.
  • Students will be expected to follow instructions and deadlines when transitioning from spring to summer housing or summer to fall housing if applicable.
    • Students transitioning from spring housing to summer housing must be present on campus to transfer belongings from their spring room to their summer room no earlier than Sunday, May 18 at 9:00 AM , to be completed no later than Monday, May 19 at 12:00 PM. You will be automatically be approved for a late departure to ensure your move.
    • Students registered for summer housing through August 8, 2025 , must be present on campus to transfer belongings from their summer room to their fall room no earlier than Wednesday, August 6 a t 9:00 AM , to be completed no later than Friday, August 8 at 12:00 PM. You will be automatically be approved for an early arrival to ensure your move.
  • Students will check in and out of their summer housing assignment at the main Residential Life Office, located on the lobby level of the East Tower. Students can check in and check out based on their registration dates. Failure to check out of their summer assignment on the required date may result in a $100 unauthorized presence fee.
  • Information regarding summer health and safety checks, scheduled power outages, and fire drills will be emailed to all summer students at their official IC email address and posted on signs in the summer housing buildings. All rules and regulations for the academic year are still in effect during the summer term.
    • Facilities schedule two all-day power shut-downs during the summer: one in May/June and one in August. Dates are available on Intercom.
  • Similar to the academic year, Resident Assistants (RA) and Residence Directors (RD) are on duty. Contact information is posted in each building. In case of an emergency, please contact the Office of Public Safety.
  • Please note that students must be eligible and registered for summer housing to live in on campus summer housing. To be eligible, individuals must be active students. Students requesting to stay later in their spring semester assignment or arrive earlier to their fall semester assignment should visit our late departure and early arrival webpages. Please note that Residential Life does not provide storage options to leave personal belongings over the summer.
