Early Arrival Process for Spring Semester

Students with an on campus Fall assignment

If you would like to return to campus prior to the official Spring semester opening, you may return to your Fall assignment as part of our Break Housing options by submitting a break housing registration form.

Students Who did not live on campus during the fall semester or are changing rooms

Early Arrival requests are required for students who did not live on campus during the Fall semester and are required to check into your Spring housing assignment earlier than the published Spring semester check-in date. You must receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life to arrive early. The earliest date you may request is the Tuesday prior to the published residence hall opening date for the Spring semester.

If you are required to arrive early due to on campus employment in an essential office, athletics, or academics, the early arrival request must be submitted by your employment supervisor, coach, or academic school. Requests will be approved when possible, depending on reason and availability of the specific room or apartment assignment. Students approved to return early will receive an email, with information about their move-in.

Requests based on Personal Reasons

If you have a need to move-in earlier due to extenuating circumstances, submit an early arrival request form and be as specific as possible when explaining the reason that you are requesting to arrive early.  Do not make travel arrangements until you have received a response, as requests may not be able to be granted. The early arrival request form will go live in IC Workflow at 9:00am on January 2, 2025.

No IC moving assistance or moving supplies (such as carts or dollies) are available during spring check-in.  For dining hours, locations, and other information, please visit the Ithaca College Dining website

Unauthorized Presence

Students found in a closed residence hall or apartment who are unapproved prior to the published opening time are subject to immediate removal from the building, a student conduct referral, and a $100.00 fine.
