Students are invited to Emerson Suites between classes to enjoy free ice cream and write thank-you notes to Ithaca College donors. There will even be some "IC celebrities" on hand to scoop the ice cream! Faculty and staff donors are invited to attend so that we show them our gratitude.
Current students will hear advice from young alumni about their experiences at IC and their transition to the real world. After participating in a Q&A with the panelists, audience members will have a chance to meet and talk with them during a reception with light refreshments.
IC community members can win prizes by answering IC trivia questions. They will be encouraged to write why they love IC on our graffiti board and take photos in IC gear at the Instagram board.
Students will have the opportunity to share teh random acts of kindness they have witnessed or received from other IC community members and write thank you notes to faculty and staff who have contributed to their IC experience. They will have the opportunity to "pay it forward" by taking a note with kind words of encouragement to share with someone else. There will also be chances to win fun prizes!
Teams of three to five will compete in a series of 10 "Minute to Win It"-style events featuring trivia and entertainment. Contestants earn points for their team by competing in various events. The prize pool will be donated to a charity fo the winning team's choosing. Previous years teams played on behalf of organizations such as the SPCA, Loaves and Fishes, and the Sciencenter. Each team's registration fee is $25 and each peson on the team will receive an official I Love IC Week t-shirt.
The Peggy Ryan Williams Difficult Dialogues Symposium explores complex and controversial subjects to engage audiences in civil and respectful dialogue by bringing to campus a speaker or speakers who will present important topics that are challenging and thought-provoking. The symposium is named in honor of IC President Emerita Peggy Ryan Williams, who has been an advocate for open discourse and a staunch defender of academic freedom and active, open inquiry.
