After an interview with the executive board, candidates must complete the basic training. This phase consists primarily of classroom instruction plus an observational patrol, which encompasses a total of approximately 12 hours of training. Successful candidates will be hired as Probationary Members. Promotional opportunities exist thereafter to Junior member, Senior member and Executive Board member.
All SASP members must be enrolled as full or part-time students at Ithaca College and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.6. All employees must also be in good standing with Student Financial Services and have a clean history with the Office of Judicial Affairs.
