Graduate Hooding Ceremony

Glazer Arena

The College will recognize the special accomplishments of all graduating master's and doctoral candidates through a graduate hooding ceremony. Following a centuries-old tradition, master's and doctoral candidates will be formally hooded by their respective faculty. A reception will follow the program. All family and friends of graduate students are cordially invited to attend the ceremony and reception.

Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates in the Glazer Arena. All Master's and Doctoral Candidates must RSVP by April 20, 2020.

Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897, is the only national honor society which recognizes and encourages superior scholarship in all disciplines of higher education. The Greek letters Phi Kappa Phi stand for Philosophia Krateito Phonton -- “let the love of learning rule humanity.”

Join us in inducting a new cohort of IC juniors and seniors into the distinguished Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Faculty, staff, students, and their families are welcome to attend the ceremony and celebrate the accomplishments of these fine scholars.

The Office of the Provost is hosting informal “Updates from the Office of the Provost” open house meetings for any interested faculty, staff, and students. These gatherings will serve as an opportunity for updates and conversations related to initiatives in Academic Affairs, and our first gathering for the spring semester will be Wednesday, January 29th, from 12:00 to 12:50 PM in Clark Lounge of the Campus Center.

The meetings are open to all, and we hope you will feel free to join us if you can.

Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897, is the only national honor society which recognizes and encourages superior scholarship in all disciplines of higher education. Each year, four Presidential Scholar Awards are given out to honor outstanding student academic achievement, named after the first four Ithaca College chapter Phi Kappa Phi presidents: the Shirley Hockett Award, the John Bernard Award, the John Harcourt Award, and the Raquib Zaman Award.
