This webinar will cover the process of creating audio books, from selecting equipment and editing techniques to marketing the final product. Presenter Scott Slocum ’75 has 11 audiobooks on Amazon, Audible.com, and iTunes that he has produced for other authors, and is currently producing the audiobook of his novel, Buzzards Bay Chowder and the Alien Invasion of Cape Cod.

Professionals for Trans Lives: Supporting Your Trans Clients

Transgender people experience systemic barriers in every facet of life just because of who they are. Equitable education, employment, housing, healthcare, mental health support, substance treatment and more are all harder to come by for trans folks -- especially low-income trans people of color -- due to systemic transphobia, sexism, racism, ableism, and heterosexism.

The IC Web Team will be holding remote open support hours every other Friday during the summer. Bring your questions about Drupal, Web Profile Manager (WPM), site migration, site architecture, content types, or any other web-related topic and the team will do their best to answer.

23rd Annual Whalen Academic Symposium

Some of Ithaca College’s brightest and most creative students will present their impressive research at the 23rd Annual James J. Whalen Academic Symposium on Thursday, April 9.

Undergraduate and graduate students will participate by giving oral presentations or displaying posters and other creative works.

For the keynote address, Dr. Sara Haefeli (Music Theory, History, and Composition), Associate Professor, and her students will present: “Are you a Bucket or an Ice Cube?” The keynote is scheduled for 11:10 AM in Emerson C.

Expanding Adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) (LO)

The State University of New York (SUNY) and its campuses have been engaged with open educational resources (OER) in various capacities since 2011.  With direct funding from the New York State budget beginning in 2017, SUNY was able to formalize an approach to OER rooted in excellence in teaching and learning. SUNY’s OER framework is focused on student success by utilizing content and learning tools that are data-informed for excellence.

At the Writing Center, we will help create a toolbox for those who are interested in using their language for good in the classroom, workplace, and world at large.
