The Center for Faculty Excellence and the Faculty Development Committee seek nominations for Ithaca College’s annual Faculty Excellence Awards. We welcome ALL faculty nominations.

Reassigned time for full-time, continuing faculty to pursue pedagogical, research (including collaborative student/faculty research), and creative projects; to engage in outreach ("service") activities that engage the faculty member's professional training and talents; and to write grant proposals that will be submitted to external sources. The role of FRD is to support worthwhile endeavors that might otherwise go unsupported.

The Instructional Development Award (IDA) supports student-facing projects, instruction, and resources, encouraging faculty to address academic needs by refining teaching skills, developing innovative materials, and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in pedagogy. All continuing full-time faculty are eligible, with priority given to those who have not received the grant in the past three years.

This program offers grants of up to $300 to faculty for costs related to developing or redesigning a course, including books, digital resources, software, or lab supplies. Purchases must directly support the course work. Early career and BIPOC faculty are strongly encouraged to apply. The grants are not for pursuing advanced degrees.

This grant is intended to support post-terminal degree scholarly endeavors. Awards provide compensation for eight weeks of full-time scholarly or creative work.
