Distinguished Visiting Writers presents Danez Smith in a Pubic Reading

Danez Smith is a poz writer and poet from St. Paul, MN. They are the author of the poetry collections Don't Call us Dead, [insert] Boy, and Homie. They have won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Poetry, the Forward Prize, and the Poetry Society of America's inaugural Four Quartets Prize.

Distinguished Visiting Writers presents Walt Harrington in a Public Reading

A former staff writer for the Washington Post magazine, Walt Harrington has published two memoirs that blend autobiography and reportage, Crossings: A White Man's Journey into Black America and The Everlasting Stream: A True Story of Rabbits, Guns, Friendship, and Family. Harrington has won numerous writing awards.

The CSCRE is moving forward with plans to develop a CSCRE major, and we want to include students in the process. Envisioning the Major: Student Input Session will be your chance to share your opinions and ideas with the CSCRE faculty. As Roots and Routes has taught us, students have been critical to challenging and changing the university. As the CSCRE continues to grow, we firmly believe that student voices need to be heard and to look forward to this collaboration.

9th Annual Wheels for Women Cabaret Saturday, February 1!

On Saturday, February 1 at 7 p.m. the Department of Theatre Arts senior class will present the 9th Annual “Wheels for Women” Benefit Cabaret. We hope you will come out for a wonderful evening of entertainment while helping to change women’s lives on the other side of the world. The cabaret will last about 90 minutes with an intermission and will feature music, poetry, and dance. The event will also include a raffle for professional theatre tickets and an auction for a home made pie! Suggested donation is $10 per adult and $5 for students.
