The Theatre Administration Classroom Assistant works closely with TAM area faculty to assist with production related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Student must be a major within the B.S. Theatre Arts Management or B.S. Theatre Administration major 
    • Preference will be given to students with Junior or Senior standing
  • Must be available to work up to 5 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Excellent written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent list-making and information-tracking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstration of attention to detail
  • Demonstration of problem-solving ability
  • Demonstration of ability to follow instructions
  • Demonstration of ability to work independently and with others


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Acquiring and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of:
    • THEA 15000 Theatre Administration Practicum I
    • Theatre Administration program policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and create materials for weekly Theatre Administration class -- weekly meeting agendas, assigning meeting leaders and minute-takers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate performance shift sign-ups with front of house managers, including but not limited to house manager(s), box office associate(s), and concessions coordinator(s).
  • Coordinator with faculty to assess theatre administration students' comprehension on:
    • Front-of-house policies and procedures
    • Theatre seating maps
    • Ithaca College Theatre productions
  • Resolve problems or issues that arise with Theatre Administration SharePoint resources site
  • Proofread meeting minutes drafts and other program documents
  • Complete, distributed and file documents and forms correctly
  • Report problems with students to Theatre Arts Management faculty
  • Model appropriate professional behavior and attire
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Hours: up to 5 hours per week
