With hundreds of murals painted across the city, it's hard to miss the meaningful artwork that tells the stories of social and cultural movements, as well as history that is uniquely Ithaca. We'll sample a vast selection of these murals with a tour through the city filled with great conversation and community. We'll close out the day at Cinemapolis, an Ithaca institution, to get a taste of their film offerings. Did you know that Ithaca was a hub for silent movie making in the early 20th century?
This program would be a great fit for students who are interested in the arts, social justice, cultural movements, and getting to know Downtown Ithaca, from the Commons to the gorges!
In this program, participants will:
- Take a tour of Ithaca that focuses on the hundreds of murals that paint the city
- Grab lunch together at a downtown Ithaca restaurant
- Enjoy a film viewing at Cinemapolis
- Have fun and meet new friends!
