Join IC Campus Rec for a kayaking adventure in Cass Park followed by a delicious cookout at the IC boathouse!

This is a great opportunity for new students to get outdoors in the local landscape and meet new people!

In this program participant will:

  • Participate in engaging activities outdoors with other incoming students while being surrounded by the beauty of Cayuga Lake.

  •  Find a sense of belonging through playing games with students who share similar interests.

  • Have fun and meet new friends! 

Program Logistics

  • New students can participate in this Jumpstart program on August 19-20, 2024

  • Jumpstart participants will move into their residence hall rooms on Monday, August 19 between 9:00am - 4:00pm.

  • The program runs from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Monday (includes a welcome BBQ!), approximately 9:00am-6:00pm on Tuesday, with a Jumpstart closing event on Tuesday evening.

  • A barbecue lunch will be provided at the Ithaca College Boathouse on the Cayuga Lake Inlet for participants of this program on Tuesday, all other meals will be covered by your IC meal plan in the dining hall. Transportation and all program materials are provided for this program.

  • Participants will be engaged in fun and physical activities; Dress according to the weather of the day and being out on the water. Don't forget your sunscreen!

  • There is no charge for this program.
