“THE KIDS ARE GREAT”
"The kids are great, you know. Every day when you leave class they're, 'Thank you so much,' and you're like, 'No, thank you!' So it's rewarding for me, and I feel rewarded when I leave at the end of the day. I'm like, Oh, I made a difference today with something--You know, maybe a conversation I had, something we did, something that will stay."
“I GET TO COME IN AND BE CREATIVE AND I LEARN SOMETHING NEW”
“Every day I get to come in and be creative and I learn something new. Every day I'm trying something new. I'm pushing myself to go outside my comfort zone. So every day is unique and interesting, plus I work with a bunch of people who challenge me not only intellectually but also in the classroom.”
“I think as a person, my frame of mind has always been positive. I don't dwell on the negative, and if last year was bad, well, next year is going to be better, because it can't be worse. I always have that mind frame, that it's going to be better next time and I try it again. And I also don't mind failing. I take it as a learning experience. And I tell my kids that, too—'Hey, if we get bad data, that's okay, let's figure out why it happened and move forward.' So I think it's a mind frame.”
